About this release
You & Me brings Michael Gray’s songwriting and production together with a wide cast of singers and musicians on his Sultra Records label. The album moves between disco, boogie and soulful house, giving its collaborators room within polished band arrangements. Bran Mazz, Mike Dunn, Tania Foster, Kelli Sae, Errol Reid, Sian Lee, Dyanna Fearon, Phebe Edwards and Audrey Martells contribute vocals, while Jamiroquai drummer Derrick McKenzie plays on Detonate and I Like The Way. Covers associated with Maxwell and Cleo Sol sit alongside Gray’s own material. Across the double LP, live playing and detailed studio work support both the songs and their club-focused rhythms.
