About this release
Through Global Frequency sets Michel Banabila’s poem within ambient electronics and electro-acoustic compositions shaped around the voices of friends and family. Each contributor reads the text in their own language, allowing tone, cadence and rhythm to guide the music. Built partly from titles in Banabila’s back catalogue, the poem becomes a shared point of connection across distinct voices and languages. Scanner, Ines Kooli, Yuko Kobayashi and Sebastian Lee Philipp are among the contributors, with additional musical appearances from Robin Schaeverbeke, Cengiz Arslanpay and Machinefabriek. Peter Hollo adds cello, while the surrounding textures place the individuality of each voice at the centre.
