Model Man's self-titled debut brings Mark Brandon's classical training into contact with UK club music. Piano figures move alongside two-step rhythms and jungle breaks, with influences ranging from Steve Reich and Todd Edwards to Bill Withers feeding into the songwriting.

The album reflects the garage and drum-and-bass culture Brandon encountered growing up, alongside his earlier experience playing guitar. Across twelve tracks, including Don't Cry, Sweet Surrender and Clarity, it connects those different musical backgrounds through melody and rhythm. Released on Marathon Records, the LP closes with Impromptu No1 (Apogee), returning to the instrumental focus that runs through the project.
