About this release
Monika Linges’s Floating brings Latin-inspired songs and ballads into a vocal jazz setting, with electric piano, bass and drums at its core. Recorded in Aachen in January 1982, the album features Linges as singer, composer and arranger alongside pianist Dennis Luxion, bassist Michael Schöneich and drummer Gerd Breuer. Its eight tracks range from ‘Too Fond of Samba’ and the title piece to ‘Prayer for the Newborn’ and ‘The World Was Young’. Panorama’s lilac vinyl reissue includes liner notes by Rainer Trüby, returning the complete album to a single LP.
