About this release
Remind Me / Chameleon pairs two performances by Yuki Kanesaka's monolog project on a Dippin' Records seven-inch. Patrice Rushen joins Remind Me on vocals and synthesizer lead, singing her own song within Kanesaka's new arrangement. The recording previously appeared on a monolog CD album in 2013. The reverse turns to Herbie Hancock's Chameleon, with Julian Dessler on trumpet and the remaining instrumentation played and produced by Kanesaka. Both sides use live instruments to revisit the original songs, connecting Rushen's vocal-led soul with Hancock's jazz-funk composition in a compact two-track single.
