About this release
Naissoo Freeform Quintet captures two improvisational sessions recorded in Tallinn in July 2024. Led by Tõnu Naissoo on Rhodes, Moog Source and ARP Odyssey, the group brings together Mihkel Mälgand on electric and double bass, Meelis Vind on bass clarinet, Karl-Juhan Laanesaar on drums and Kristjan Jõemägi on percussion. The six pieces connect funk rhythms with free-jazz exploration and psychedelic keyboard textures, leaving room for the ensemble to develop ideas in the moment. White, Pink and Blue fill the first side, followed by Black, Green and Orange. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Peeter Salmela, the album appears on NooPop Records.
