About this release
Nami Shimada’s Sunshower connects Japanese pop vocals with the house production of Soichi Terada. This collection brings together Larry Levan’s Vocal Mix and Mark Kamins’ Dance Mix, followed by Sunshower and its instrumental version. Terada’s approach reshapes the song around sampled sounds and a house pulse, leaving Shimada’s voice at its centre. The contrasting vocal, instrumental and remixed treatments trace the record’s crossover between pop songwriting and club music.
