About this release
Needlewreckordz pairs Doin It (In The Park) and Madness on a seven-inch that connects funk, hip-hop and R&B. Doin It (In The Park) opens with a familiar refrain set over a rolling funk groove, using the source material as part of a new rhythmic arrangement. Madness takes the reverse at a slower pace, combining smooth R&B vocals with bumping drums and fragments of hip-hop. The contrast moves from a more direct opener to a deeper second side, with both cuts built around the relationship between vocal samples and the groove.
