About this release
Night Sea's debut album returns with its first reissue five years after its initial drop on Silent Season. To mark the occasion, Johan Ismael and Arina Pozdnyak reimagine the artwork and have weathered it by "digital ageing" to mirror the music's meditations on impermanence.
Crafted over two years, the record drifts through hazy dub rhythms and deep ambient swells to evoke the redwoods, sunlit coasts and Pacific waters of the Bay Area. Tracks evolve slowly, so you have the full opportunity to sink in deep and get lost in some honest reflection. This is the sort of comforting record that stays with you and is equally suited for moments of solitude or shared reflection.
