About this release
MTV Unplugged in New York presents Nirvana in a mostly acoustic setting, recorded at Sony Music Studios in November 1993 and released the following year. About A Girl and Come As You Are sit beside songs drawn from outside the band’s catalogue, including The Man Who Sold The World and Jesus Doesn’t Want Me For A Sunbeam. Members of the Meat Puppets join for Plateau, Oh Me and Lake Of Fire, bringing another texture to the performance. All Apologies leads into the closing Where Did You Sleep Last Night. The set gives the songs space and places Kurt Cobain’s voice at its centre.
