About this release
Noumen returns to Central Processing Unit with Altum, an extended exploration of intricate rhythm and tuned electronic sound. The long opening piece Oion establishes the album’s balance of forceful drum programming and more suspended, melodic passages. Telemask introduces breakbeat detail, while Awe and Axis push into restless, glitching patterns. Elsewhere, the title track and Unveilness bring the low end forward without losing the record’s exploratory character. Written and produced by Andriy Vezdenko, Altum develops the Ukrainian artist’s approach to electro and IDM across thirteen pieces. The album is mastered at Computer Club Sheffield, with design by Human.
