About this release
Aste gathers eight early recordings by Mika Vainio under his Ø name, written and produced in Turku between 1991 and 1993. The collection moves between his sharply focused techno language and more atmospheric pieces, giving a view of ideas that would remain central to his work. Spiraalit opens the sequence, followed by Sukeltava, Pakkasherra and Kolmas, with Ionos, Aaltovaihe, Maan Valossa and Siimes completing the album. First issued by Sähkö in 2006, Aste is presented here as a double-vinyl reissue. Rashad Becker’s mastering at D&M brings these early productions together across the set.
