About this release
Metri is Mika Vainio’s first album under the Ø name, bringing a stripped electronic language of rhythm, tone and space to Sähkö Recordings. This double-LP edition presents fifteen recordings across four sides, ranging from ‘Sisään’ and ‘Kuvio’ to ‘Radio’, ‘Kenttä’ and ‘Dayak’. The programme connects minimal techno with experimental electronic sound, giving both short studies and longer pieces room within the sequence. ‘Muuntaja’ is a collaboration with Ilpo Väisänen, Vainio’s fellow Pan Sonic member. The reissue was mastered and cut by Rashad Becker, returning the album to vinyl in a complete fifteen-track presentation.
