About this release
Istanbul Groove gathers archive recordings by percussionist Okay Temiz on Caz Plak. Compiled by Haluk Damar and Erinç Güzel, the album draws from his 1990s work, connecting Turkish musical traditions with jazz and funk.
Eight pieces range from Cobra and Kiba Song to extended rhythmic explorations and instrumental taksims. Temiz's percussion anchors an album that moves between ensemble grooves and more open improvisation.
