About this release
Mr Bongo pairs two Brazilian boogie recordings from 1981 on this Brazil 45s single. São Paulo group Os Carbonos supplies Pássaro Selvagem, a bass-driven funk cut first issued on the reverse of a Copacabana seven-inch. Sandra de Sá takes the other side with Palco Azul, bringing a distinctive vocal to bright brass, warm keyboards and uplifting chord changes. The pairing draws on the point where Brazilian song met early-1980s dancefloor production, with the two recordings sharing a rhythmic focus while retaining their own vocal character.
