About this release
Overmono's second album Pure Devotion develops the ideas behind Tom and Ed Russell's live shows into eleven studio recordings. Their process centres on physical sound: re-amping vocals and synths through old speakers, working with tape and using altered instruments to introduce grain and irregularity into the production. John Joseph Holt, Kindora, Ruthven and Rock Floyd contribute across the vocal tracks, bringing different voices into the duo's electronic arrangements. From Lockup through to After The Rain, the album balances those collaborations with instrumental pieces. This XL Recordings LP presents the complete eleven-track album in its standard single-record format.
