About this release
John Howes brings Paperclip Minimiser to Blank Mind with Topology Transform, extending the project’s detailed approach to dub techno and broken rhythms. Developed through the customised production systems associated with his Cong Burn work, the tracks place machine hums and sharply defined percussion in spacious arrangements. TT A1 moves at 150 BPM, with crunchy drums and tiny melodic ripples, while TT A2 explores the half-time space within the same tempo. The reverse opens into a longer, beatless ambient piece. Together, the tracks connect intricate rhythmic movement with a more suspended sound, keeping a consistent texture across their different forms.
