About this release
School Daze collects Patrick Cowley’s instrumental recordings from 1973–1981, recovered from the Fox Studio vaults by Dark Entries and Honey Soundsystem. The material predates and runs alongside the San Francisco producer’s celebrated disco work, combining synthesizers, altered guitars and studio experiments in arrangements that move from sparse electronics to funk and extended atmospheric pieces.
Zygote, Journey Home and Primordial Landscape show the breadth of Cowley’s early musical world. George Horn restored and remastered the tapes while retaining their original playback settings. The double LP comes in a gatefold sleeve with archive imagery and an essay by Indoor Life vocalist Jorge Soccarras.
