About this release
Patti Jo's Make Me Believe In You and Ain't No Love Lost pair Curtis Mayfield's productions with Tom Moulton's extended mixes. Both recordings place her vocals over deep grooves and full soul arrangements, connecting early-1970s songwriting with Moulton's approach to the dancefloor. Celestial Echo's official reissue presents one track on each side of a 12-inch, remastered from Moulton's original tapes. The two mixes offer complementary sides of the same collaboration, with the space of the extended format giving the vocals and arrangements room to develop.
