About this release
Peach moves into slower, more inward-looking territory on Soak Vol. 1 for Mood Hut. The mini-album took shape after an Asian tour, with a visit to a Tokyo sento prompting a different approach to the relationship between physical energy and music. She allowed changes in energy to guide tempo, density and mood, rather than building solely around club expectations. Field recordings from Vietnam and the Philippines sit within the arrangements, alongside drifting pads, bass weight and broken percussion. Across the record, water becomes a recurring presence in both the source sounds and the gradual movement of its textures.
