About this release
Persian’s Questions gathers five linked pieces from Peter Reilly’s catalogue, re-edited, extended and sequenced for Emotional Especial. The programme moves through versions 1, 2, 5, 3 and 7, connecting ambient textures, breaks, acid, dub and funk. ‘Questions 1’ begins with a spacious breakbeat setting before the keys and melody of ‘Questions 2’. On the reverse, ‘Questions 5’ combines a dub bass line with Amen breaks, while ‘Questions 3’ turns towards a funk and boogie rhythm. ‘Questions 7’ closes in an ambient direction, completing a set that draws together several aspects of Reilly’s production.
