About this release
Pete Blaker’s second outing on Razor-N-Tape pairs two extended edits with contrasting approaches to disco. Miami Sax reworks Paco Saval’s Tonight (Sprint To Paris), drawing out its saxophone and funky guitar into a looping journey through 1980s fusion and Balearic sounds. On the reverse, Must Be Love turns to Love & Kisses’ You Must Be Love, the disco group associated with producer Alec R. Costandinos. Strings and high vocal harmonies give that side a fuller soul character. Both edits use repetition and extended arrangements to develop the originals’ grooves, with one track occupying each side.
