About this release
Piero Umiliani’s score for Umberto Lenzi’s 1969 thriller ‘Orgasmo’, also known as ‘Paranoia’, moves between bossa nova, samba-jazz and psychedelic suspense. Recorded in late 1968, it features vocals from Alessandro Alessandroni, Giulia De Mutiis and Lydia MacDonald, with Antonello Vannucchi on Hammond organ. MacDonald sings ‘Fate Had Planned It So’, the film’s opening-title song, before the instrumental cues explore contrasting rhythmic and atmospheric settings. Four Flies restored the music from tapes recovered in Umiliani’s archive. This edition uses the original Italian film title and presents sixteen tracks on black vinyl, in a tip-on jacket with new artwork.
