Ploy - Glizzy

Ploy returns to Dekmantel with Glizzy, a four-track 12-inch built around swinging drums, unusual samples and basslines with plenty of weight. The title track pairs an arpeggiated tech house groove with odd little melodic turns, while “Global Underground” pushes into progressive house, its bright melodic bursts riding a firm, rolling rhythm.

On the flip, “Yesterday Now Tomorrow” works tangled percussion and carefully placed samples into a loose, heavy house cut. “Slowan Dip” brings the pace down to a chug, keeping the swing pronounced and the bass up front. There’s a useful range here for DJs, from setting the room moving to keeping a busier floor locked in.
