About this release
Primal Scream’s Screamadelica brings the band’s rock background into contact with house, dub and psychedelic dance music. Released in 1991, the album moves from the gospel-inflected lift of Movin’ on Up to the extended grooves of Come Together and Loaded, with quieter passages giving the sequence room to breathe. Higher Than the Sun appears both as a song and as A Dub Symphony in Two Parts, showing how central reworking and studio experimentation are to the record. The album won the 1992 Mercury Music Prize. This Sony double-vinyl edition presents the eleven-track album in a gatefold sleeve.
