About this release
Psychemagik’s seventh Undercover Lovers release pairs two extended reworks with contrasting moods. Amazing Grace sets a female vocal within a dub-disco arrangement, weaving in elements of Sun Is Shining. On the reverse, 2001 expands the familiar film theme into a twelve-minute-plus interpretation, adding drums and rearranging the music into a more psychedelic groove. The two sides connect the duo’s interest in unexpected source recordings with a slower, more spacious approach to disco editing, giving each arrangement room to develop over an extended playing time.
