Psychic Mirrors - Island Girl

Astonishingly, 12 years has now passed since Miami-based yacht rock/boogie/AOR/jazz-funk six-piece Psychic Mirrors last appeared on People's Potential Unlimited. This fine (and limited) seven-inch is therefore well overdue.

Predictably, it's rather good too. Title track 'Island Girl' brilliantly blends rubbery bass guitar licks, fizzing boogie synth sounds, deliciously dreamy chords and the kind of hot-to-trot hand percussion rhythms frequently found on tropical disco records. 

As for flip-side 'Shock Treatment', it's a slap-bass propelled, synth-heavy slab of independent/private press boogie topped off with a superb female lead vocal. A great record that you need in your life!
