Quintetto X - Mentira

Quintetto X’s version of Marcos Valle’s Mentira returns in a new two-part format, spread across both sides of a Schema 7-inch. Originally released on a rare 1994 EP, the recording brings Brazilian songwriting together with the jazz harmonies and club rhythms of the European acid jazz scene. It captures the approach of Bari’s Fez collective, the musical circle led by Nicola Conte from which these early recordings emerged.

The first of three 45rpm reissues in the series, SC737 revisits material originally released through Right Tempo and later associated with Schema. Newly remastered from the original masters for this 2026 edition, Parts 1 and 2 give the performance a fresh presentation while keeping its rhythmic interplay and melodic character at the centre.
