Rahaan - MothaFunka Connection

Rahaan brings three disco reworks to Typewriter Record Pool on MothaFunka Connection. Working from stems, he revisits ‘Rebounds’, ‘Tongues Unknown’ and the title track, with the first two cuts sharing the A-side and ‘MothaFunka Connection’ taking the reverse.

The record links disco, spiritual jazz and P-funk through Rahaan’s approach to reworking existing recordings. ‘Rebounds’ moves on bongos and a walking bassline, while ‘Tongues Unknown’ takes a looser jazz direction. The slower, shuffling title track stretches out on the B-side. Released through Typewriter Record Pool, the twelve-inch belongs to the Hot Biscuit family of vinyl-only releases.
