About this release
Horizon is a collaboration between Resavoir’s Will Miller and guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Matt Gold, built around their shared admiration for Brazilian music of the 1960s and 1970s. Nylon-string guitar provided an early starting point before the Chicago musicians expanded the arrangements with strings, woodwinds, horns, synthesizers and sampled textures. Mei Semones sings on “Diversey Beach”, while Macie Stewart’s strings and Gold’s pedal steel add further colour across the album. Written, produced, arranged and recorded by Miller and Gold, the ten tracks form a fluid sequence of acoustic detail and studio experimentation. International Anthem’s vinyl edition presents the complete album on a single 140g LP.
