About this release
Retromigration launches Oathcreations’ KARAMÜRSELLİ imprint with Can’t Go, bringing his melodic house sensibility into contact with bass music, footwork, garage and jungle. The title track builds from heavy kicks, bright hats and echoing bass towards a prominent vocal sample. Amor Satyr and Siu Mata reshape it with a more forceful rhythmic emphasis, while “No More” combines quick-footed percussion with sharp melodic touches. “Distant” closes the EP with fuller harmonies and a saxophone solo, opening up the sound without losing its rhythmic focus. The record connects Retromigration’s background in soul, funk, jazz and hip-hop with a faster, more restless approach to club music.
