Rhetta Hughes - Light My Fire

Rhetta Hughes turns The Doors’ Light My Fire towards soul, bringing a forceful vocal and driving rhythm to the song. Paired with You’re Doing It With Her (When It Should Be Me), the single draws two performances from her Re-Light My Fire album. The contrast puts her interpretation of a familiar rock song alongside a more dramatic soul arrangement, with her voice anchoring both sides. South Street Soul’s remastered seven-inch edition presents the pairing in a label sleeve, focusing on Hughes’ delivery and the different emotional weight of the two songs.
