About this release
Roberto Porzio’s Planisfero combines salsa, samba and Afro-Cuban orchestration with the textures of vintage library music. The Neapolitan keyboardist writes and arranges the seven-track programme, with percussion arrangements by Paolo “Batà” Bianconcini and horns arranged by Pietro Santangelo. Piano, Rhodes, synthesizers, strings, vibraphone and brass give the record a changing ensemble palette, from the title track to “Fantastico Carnival”. The two-part “La Lunga Rotta” crosses the side break before “Fanfara” and the extended “Instituiçâo Mental” complete the album. Released by La Scimmia, the LP includes a printed inner sleeve and presents Porzio’s first solo album.
