About this release
Roman Flügel collaborates with London vocalist and songwriter PYTKO on Tippex In My Eye, his third single for Phantasy Sound. Her surreal lyrics move through an arrangement of sparse piano, deep bass and carefully placed synths, bringing digital dub into contact with experimental electro-pop. The vocal and instrumental versions expose different parts of that spacious production, while the Dance Mix reshapes the same elements for a longer club arrangement. PYTKO's voice becomes a repeated guiding thread as the mix builds towards its breakdown. This 12-inch brings those three treatments together, showing both the song's quieter detail and its more expansive dancefloor form.
