About this release
Roy Davis Jr. and Jay Juniel's Transitions brings together four tracks rooted in Chicago's late-1990s house sound. Following Gabriel in Davis' catalogue, the collaboration places soulful melody and spoken vocals against deep rhythms, substantial basslines and a direct club pulse. Transition and Musical Sense occupy the A-side, with Funktion and Digital Rhythm completing the flip. The set balances a rough rhythmic edge with smoother, reflective passages, showing how the pair connect emotion with movement. Large Music returns the EP to vinyl in remastered form, preserving the original four-track programme rather than adding alternative versions.
