About this release
Rudy De Anda’s second album was recorded at Electric Deluxe in Austin with producer Adrian Quesada of Black Pumas. Written around a move from California to Chicago, Closet Botanist carries De Anda’s psychedelic rock roots into a new setting while retaining the melodic character of his earlier work. He cites The Velvet Underground and The Kinks among its influences, with the songs reflecting on love and the need to look after oneself. In My Shoes opens the ten-track programme, which also includes Miel, Tu Mirada and WYD. This Karma Chief edition presents the complete album on transparent teal vinyl.
