About this release
Sade’s 1984 debut ‘Diamond Life’ introduces the band through nine songs, including ‘Smooth Operator’, ‘Your Love Is King’ and ‘Hang On To Your Love’. Recorded at Power Plant Studios in England, the album places Sade Adu’s vocals within the group’s restrained blend of soul, jazz and pop. ‘Cherry Pie’, ‘Sally’ and ‘I Will Be Your Friend’ lead into the closing interpretation of ‘Why Can’t We Live Together’. This vinyl edition uses high-resolution transfers of the original stereo master mixes, remastered at half-speed at Abbey Road Studios without additional digital limiting. It is pressed on 180g black vinyl with reproduced original packaging.
