About this release
‘Lovers Rock’, Sade’s fifth album, was originally released in 2000 and recorded at Sarm Hook End and Deliverance Studios in England and El Cortijo in Spain. ‘By Your Side’ and ‘King Of Sorrow’ feature within an eleven-song programme that also includes ‘Slave Song’, ‘Immigrant’ and the closing ‘It’s Only Love That Gets You Through’. The sequence keeps the band’s vocal-led soul at its centre. This edition presents the album on 180g black vinyl, half-speed remastered at Abbey Road Studios from high-resolution transfers of the original stereo master mixes. No additional digital limiting was used, and the original packaging has been reproduced.
