Sampology - Regrowth LP

Regrowth develops the approach Sampology explored on Natural Selections and Mt Glorious, using a largely self-recorded palette of samples. Apart from Mariana Ingold's contribution sampled on the opening Peace Lily, the source sounds were recorded in his home studio or gathered during four years of travel.

String quartets, woodwind, a twenty-piece choir, vibraphone, double bass, pianos and synthesizers feed into the album's twelve tracks. Guests include Laneous, Allysha Joy, James Chatburn, Silent Jay and Seven Davis Jr. Released on Middle Name Records, it brings those live and collected sounds into a framework of broken beat, jazz-inflected electronics and house.
