About this release
Shawn Lee’s GPS Band turns navigation instructions into the organising idea for Lost. Inspired by a 2024 tour of Italy, Lee places GPS voices over instrumental tracks named after cities and destinations, from Los Angeles and London to Hamburg, Amsterdam and Monte Belluna. Bass, guitar, synthesizers and effects provide a deliberately focused palette, drawing on late-1970s and early-1980s post-punk, post-disco, krautrock, punk-funk and no wave. The spoken directions become part of the arrangements rather than background interruptions. Légère’s ten-track LP presents the project on black vinyl in an edition limited to 300 copies worldwide.
