About this release
Isle Of Jura brings two Shiva recordings from the 1983 20 Minute Workout project together on a twelve-inch. Producer Ira Newborn invited Leon Ware and Jo Ann Harris to supply vocals, with Ware taking the more uptempo What Does It Take and Harris singing Never Gonna Give You Up. The latter’s slower arrangement makes space for keyboards and saxophone. Each vocal recording is paired with an extended instrumental version sourced from a rare laserdisc edition of the programme. Licensed from Newborn, the reissue offers another setting for Ware’s voice alongside a less widely documented Harris performance.
