About this release
Simon Peter joins Is It Balearic? with Souvenir, placing acoustic instrumentation and relaxed rhythms around contributions from Marker Starling and Robi Mitch. The title track pairs softly strummed guitar and electric piano with Starling’s hazy vocal, while “Mystical Delight” develops a folk-influenced mood with Mitch. “Still Going” adds shuffling percussion without disturbing the EP’s unhurried feel. On the reverse, Peaking Lights’ Ode To Brian Wilson remix surrounds the title song with layered, ambient textures, and Coyote takes it into a deeper dub setting. The versions connect Peter’s guitar-led songwriting with two contrasting approaches to spacious Balearic production.
