About this release
Paul Mooney revisits Skull Snaps' My Hang Up Is You with a vocal remix and an instrumental dedicated to Manchester's Ritz all-dayers. The song first appeared on the group's George Kerr-produced 1973 album for GSF, later becoming part of the UK soul scene's wider embrace of contemporary soul and jazz-funk. These Manchester Ritz Reunion versions look back to the club setting that helped establish the track with British dancers. The vocal mix takes the A-side, with the instrumental on the reverse, pairing two treatments of the same recording on this Anorax Records 7-inch.
