About this release
Skull Snaps' self-titled album brings the trio's soul and funk recordings together in a nine-track programme first issued on GSF Records. It's A New Day became particularly familiar through the use of its drum break by later producers, but the album also includes My Hang Up Is You, Having You Around and I'm Your Pimp. The sequence balances vocal songs and rhythm-led arrangements, showing a broader picture of the group than its most sampled track alone. Mr Bongo's official reissue is licensed from Sam Culley and includes sleeve notes by Anton Spice. This is the MRBLP184NB vinyl LP edition.
