About this release
Sky's The Limit's Don't Be Afraid pairs a vocal recording with an instrumental version on J.M.J. seven-inch vinyl. First released in 1976, the song combines soul harmonies with a steady jazz-funk groove. The vocal side brings the group's singing to the foreground, while the reverse opens up the arrangement through a synth-led instrumental treatment. This reissue restores the original two-sided pairing, showing how the same material works both as a song and as an instrumental. Free-form synthesizer lines give the reverse its distinctive character, carrying the record between soul listening and the dancefloor.
