Soothsayers & Victor Rice - Soothsayers Meets Victor Rice and Friends Vol 2

Soothsayers and Victor Rice continue their instrumental collaboration with a second vinyl volume on Red Earth Music. London players Robin Hopcraft and Idris Rahman bring horns and flute into sessions connecting the group with musicians in Brazil, while São Paulo-based Rice supplies bass, mixing and dub treatments. The material grew from the We Are Many sessions, developing a separate life through these instrumental arrangements. Five pieces occupy the first half of the programme, followed by their dub counterparts in a different sequence. Glass Fish, Hummingbird Highway and Black Sand are among the recordings, allowing the original performances and Rice’s studio versions to be heard together.
