About this release
Soul Element, the project of Stacy Kidd, pairs with Peven Everett on How Bad I Want Ya. Kidd’s deep house production leaves space for Everett’s voice, keeping the original focused on its groove and vocal delivery. Glenn Underground takes the reverse with the GU Peak True Time Mix, extending the arrangement and adding percussion and bass movement. His version develops more patiently while retaining the song’s Chicago swing. Daybreakers brings the original and remix together on this twelve-inch, presenting two approaches to the same vocal performance in a label-branded sleeve.
