About this release
South Shore Commission’s self-titled album brings the Chicago group’s funk and soul into a setting shaped by Philadelphia production. Bunny Sigler and Bruce Hawes produce a programme that includes Free Man, Handle With Care and We’re On The Right Track. The music combines rhythmic drive with an orchestral approach, moving between disco and vocal soul across the album. South Street Disco’s remastered edition uses tapes from Tom Moulton and presents the record on transparent purple vinyl. Redesigned labels and sleeve accompany the original eight-song programme.
