About this release
St Germain’s Boulevard brings house rhythms into conversation with jazz, with the relaxed confidence that made the 1995 debut such a distinctive part of the French electronic scene. ‘Deep In It’ and ‘Street Scene (4 Shazz)’ set out that meeting of club music and jazz phrasing, leaving plenty of space around the groove.
This 30th anniversary edition presents The Complete Series across two navy-blue vinyl records. The eight-track selection also includes ‘Sentimental Mood’, ‘What’s New’ and ‘Dub Experience II’, moving between deeper house passages and more reflective moments. A substantial listen across four sides, and a useful starting point for anyone drawn to the jazzier end of house.
