About this release
‘Gravity’ brings six producers and duos together for the fourth Basics Recording vinyl compilation. Stacy Kidd’s ‘Music For You MF’ opens the record, followed by Fouk’s disco-influenced ‘Cobalt’ and Michele Chiavarini’s ‘Vibe We Share’. Angelo Ferreri starts the reverse with ‘All Times Disco’, before Marc Cotterell’s ‘Paris By Night’ and Teuteu’s ‘Kong’ complete the selection. Across the six tracks, the compilation connects soulful, deep, garage and jazz-house approaches, with organ lines, vocal passages and broken rhythmic touches among its ingredients. Julien Maurel at Sodasound Studio handles mastering, with artwork by Malak Chami.
